What I've Been Watching!

I really enjoy binge watching, it's my "me time" and as an introvert it's how I re-energize. It's been awhile since I've updated my list and since I'm done with my classes for now, I have more time on my hands to watch my shows and check out movies. I'm actually going to split this post in two because that's how much I've caught up.

*all are available on Netflix &/or HBO*

1. Chelsea - Chelsea Handler is hilarious!! I love that on this show she's doing whatever she wants and she's not being restricted by a production company. I really enjoy talk shows but most are so censored and this show is free from that!

2. Frankie & Grace - When this show first came out I thought it was a really funny and amusing concept, and at first I was a bit skeptical of watching it so I'm glad I gave it a chance. I'm not going to spoil too much but Frankie and Grace are both older women, Frankie is more of the high maintenance, have a martini at 2 in the afternoon type of person and Grace is a laid back vegan who really loves weed. Though they've known each other for years they were never close due to them having very different personalities. This Netflix series shows how they become inseparable and it's hilarious! (I might be a little biased though because I love old people)

3. Inside Out - I'm very old (I like to think I am) and I'm not that into kids movies anymore but one random morning this movie was playing so I decided to enjoy it with my cup of coffee (plus Mindy Kaling is in it and her voice is so cute). I should have learned my lesson after almost crying during the movie HOME that this was going to be just as sad. I don't know if it's just me, but kids movies have gotten more emotional over the years. Anyway, I cried like a little baby and it was worth it. It's a great movie to watch and it's very adorable.

4. CodeGirl - I think I mentioned before that I dipped into coding (HTML/CSS) during middle school - def not an expert yet though - and I really enjoy it. I'm even in the process of learning JavaScript right now that I'm on break from school. This movie is about girls from around the world in a competition to build the best app. I think it's cool when young girls get into tech and are really interested in it. I've seen numerous articles on how women in tech are making a comeback and I hope to join that group one day. This movie was very inspiring because not all of the girls were coming from the best situations yet they are trying to make a change and improve lives through the apps they built. If you love documentaries, especially tech-related, I suggest this one!

5. Love - This was an interesting series and I hope they come back for a second season. It's about a couple's strange on/off relationship/friendship. I've never been to Cali but this show is what I always imagined what life in Cali is like.

6. Habla Women - I really love watching documentaries. What attracted me to this one was it was about the women in the Hispanic community (which I am part of) and maybe also because Gina Rodriguez was on the cover. It's a great film that talks about the situations that affect the women in this community, but what I like is that women of color from other races can definitely relate as well. In some parts it was eye opening and I learned new things about my culture.
